Privacy Policy

How Fifty Point Heating & Cooling handles the information you share through this website.

What we collect

When you send a service request, we receive what you type into the form: your name, phone number, town, the service you need and your message.

When you call or email us, we receive your phone number or email address and whatever you choose to tell us.

The “Is my town covered?” check runs in your browser. The town you type is not sent to us.

How we use it

We use your details to call you back, answer your question, and schedule and carry out the work you ask for. We don’t sell them, rent them or use them for marketing lists.

Who handles it for us

Form requests pass from the site to our own mail server, which emails them to our inbox. The site is hosted by Vercel, which keeps short-lived technical logs, such as IP address and browser type, to run and secure the site. To stop spam, our mail server keeps a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address for a short time to limit repeated requests.

These providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws.

Cookies and tracking

This site doesn’t use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. The fonts are served from this site, not from a third party. The local temperature on the home page is looked up by our server for Stoney Creek, not from your location.

How long we keep it

We keep service requests only as long as we need them to serve you and to keep our normal business records, then delete them.

Your choices

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it or have it deleted. Email fiftypointheatingandcooling@hotmail.com or call 905-746-3333.

If you have a concern we haven’t resolved, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

While you wait, three quick checks

  1. 01

Thermostat. Set to Heat (or Cool), a few degrees past the room temperature, with fresh batteries if it takes them.

  2. 02

Power. Check the breaker for the furnace or AC, and the furnace's service switch: it looks like a light switch, near the unit.

  3. 03

Filter. A clogged furnace filter can shut the system down. If it's grey and matted, swap it.

Smell gas? Leave the building first.

Then, from a safe distance, call Enbridge Gas's 24/7 emergency line or 911.
