While you wait, three quick checks

  1. 01

Thermostat. Set to Heat (or Cool), a few degrees past the room temperature, with fresh batteries if it takes them.

  2. 02

Power. Check the breaker for the furnace or AC, and the furnace's service switch: it looks like a light switch, near the unit.

  3. 03

Filter. A clogged furnace filter can shut the system down. If it's grey and matted, swap it.

Smell gas? Leave the building first.

Then, from a safe distance, call Enbridge Gas's 24/7 emergency line or 911.
